  • Keeping You Protected: What We’re Doing

While the coronavirus came to the United States at the end of January, we are about a month into the severity of the nationwide shutdown. Currently (as of April 1, 2020), the total cases of coronavirus in the United States is 186,101 with 3,603 confirmed deaths. All 50 states have had someone test positive for the virus and while elderly and immunocompromised people are more susceptible, we are now seeing cases of the virus in healthy young people and even children. It’s so incredibly important that you take the necessary precautions set out by the CDC and your government so that we can stop the spread and get back to our normal lives. In this blog post, we will be sharing how we, Elite Home Care Services, are helping combat the spread of the virus and what our current plan for our company is. Keep reading to learn more.

    Practicing Social Distancing

We take social distancing very seriously, which is why all of our caregivers are implementing this in their daily lives. We are also making sure that our clients are social distancing themselves too. For certain caregiving tasks we are making sure that our caregivers are keeping their distance while still providing the best care possible. Of course, not all tasks are able to keep their distance, but we’re doing what we can to help make sure that we’re keeping you and your loved ones healthy during this outbreak.

Providing Our Caretakers With Gloves And Masks

Along with social distancing, we are providing our caretakers with gloves and masks to use when they are working. We want to inform our clients and their families that this is just a safety precaution that we are using for ALL of our clients, not just specific ones. By providing our caretakers with personal protective equipment, we’re doing our part in eliminating contaminated surfaces that we come in contact with.

    Daily Health Screenings

All of our caretakers and providers are being screened daily, and even hourly, to make sure that they are in good working condition and healthy before they enter the homes of our clients. These health screenings are taking the temperature of our caregivers and making sure that they aren’t experiencing any health concerns of symptoms of the virus. If a caregiver is not feeling well, we are doing our part to make sure that they are spending time at home and not coming back to work until they are 100% feeling better. We’re also screening our employees for illnesses, even if they aren’t feeling or displaying symptoms or other illnesses, not just the coronavirus.

    Implementing Higher Health Standards

Our caregivers are trained and do practice proper health precautions, but we are implementing more. We are cleaning our facilities more than usual and are providing our facilities and caregivers with disinfectant, hand sanitizer, and other hygiene products. We are washing our hands constantly, especially before physically helping or coming in contact with a patient. For more information about what we are doing, please reach out to us. We want to be sure to help ease your mind when it comes to knowing that we are being safe and that your loved ones are being properly cared for.

This time of social distancing may not be ideal, but we’re all going through it. We’re doing everything that we can, and Elite Homecare Service is following closely to the CDC’s recommendations that are pertaining to the coronavirus and will be posting updates about our steps we are taking to help distance and care at this time.

Remember, if you’re feeling or displaying symptoms of coronavirus, please call your local doctors office before coming in. Many places are setting up virtual visits to help decrease the spreading of any type of sickness. We do urge you, if you’re feeling sick with any of the symptoms, please avoid going to public offices like emergency rooms or urgent care clinics. Not only are these facilities caring for more people than usual, but you could be exposing yourself or others to other illnesses.

Remember to take care of yourself during this time, and check the CDC’s website for more updates. To all of our customers and their families, stay safe!
